After a hot, dry and tiring summer, monsoon brings a much needed relief. As it casts its magical spell, the arid landscape turns into a soothing green garden almost overnight. Every year we set out to witness this monsoon magic at work. Navigating through the scenic backroads the ‘Monsoon Sojourn’ takes us to some of the most beautiful and offbeat locations. The real joy of monsoon sojourn lies on these backroads. The aroma of the first rain, the sights of flora and fauna is intoxicating. 

Keeping true explorer spirit of monsoon sojourn, we don’t hurry through and take our own time to explore. Even though the night stays are pre-arranged the pace of the day is relaxed enabling us to take impromptu stops to explore. 

Monsoon Sojourn is a self drive/ride expedition and everyone is invited to join irrespective of the vehicle you ride/drive. We could arrange for motorcycle on hire in the case you are unable to bring your own.

Jeypore Bike Riders is celebrating its inception day on 6th August.

Many rides ago Jeypore Bike Riders was born on a concept that no road is too long when you have good company. This thought gathered torque and Jeypore Bike Riders rolled out. Over years our “good company” grew. So did number of our memorable memories and the times we spent under million stars shining party lights on us.

Jawai, a quaint village which in recent years have been famous for its Leopards. We were generously hosted at Jawai by Mr. Manahar Deo Singh Kahai at one of his many properties in Jawai. Mr. Deo is also an Automobile collector and restorer, he showed us around his lovely collection of rare automobiles. What an incredible sight, it is heartening to see forgotten and neglected automobiles coming back to life again.

We were lucky to spot a Leopard just 100 mtrs from us, on foot in the night, and a baby crocodile basking in the sun along a village pond. We explored beautiful trails across the jungle, saw the magnificent Jawai Dam from the top of its gates. Lying on top of Lava rocks in the night we stared at the show the stars above have put up and witnessed meteor shower in its full glory. Jawai was a revelation, it had so much to offer that the extra day spent there also felt inadequate.

Tour-De-Thar is an annual Desert Expedition organised by Western Motorsports. This expedition satiates our desire of exploring the uncharted - camping on locations that are not even present on google maps. its a week long extravaganza of roads, off roads, dirt tracks, lose sand trails, singing, dancing - enjoying life the way its meant to be enjoyed.


Western Motorsports is an organization based in Jaipur, Rajasthan that focuses on everything from motorsporting events in the mud, to awareness rallies for cancer. From heritage walks around the city, to motorcycle rides organized by our brothers at Jeypore Bike Riders.
